I think you should consider only the anode surface, because by anodic current density you control how much metal ions (for instance Al3+) will be released to solution.

For current density calculations you only consider the anode since that is where oxidation is taking place. The metal electrode (Fe or Al) is bi-polar hence consider the total surface area in solution.

CD should be calculated only on anode ( doubled surface area immersed)

If the anode immersed dimension is 4*7 cm

The CD = Current/ (2*4*7) A/cm2.
