For my dissertation (PhD) I am looking for something that does not require statistics per se. I am thinking of using a Case Study method. Can I use this for analyzing a group (Christian Counselors) who employ spiritual gifts and supernatural discernment in their practices? I am hoping to study how it is done for the purpose of creating a new approach for counselling. Thank you!
Any info on how this is done would be helpful even if only a link. Any other methods suggested also welcome.
Is it appropriate to use Case Study Method given the question you are researching? You will find the criteria for assessing that in book about research methodology - .e.g. John Creswell or Michael Quinn Patton.
That is we don't not use a particular methodology because we don't want to use it or have no expertise in it. Rather, we select the best method available for exploring our question (and notice that I wrote "exploring" not "answering."
Further, you need to be able to rationalize the choice of method by reference to the research methodology literature.

YOU CAN STUDY CASE SERIES , WHICH ARE SIMILAR LARGE NUMBER OF CASES WITH SIMILAR IDENTITY OR WITH FEW DIFFERENCES

Recent editions of Practical Research: Planning and Design by Paul D. Leedy and Jeanne Ellis Ormrod contain helpful information about case studies and phenomenological studies. A phenomenological study may be more appropriate for your research. Please consult the index for the page numbers.
