I am going to do a research on post-treating wastewater by means of adsorbent pervious concrete. Because we have limitations on measuring heavy metals, it is possible to measure 2 or 3. I was wondering which heavy metals are significant in wastewater?

If it is real wastewater, it depends on the characteristics of wastewater you are going to treat.
If it is synthetic wastewater, you can select the most hazardous HMs. You need to refer to international agency for research on cancer.

In many countries you should to acomplish with the national regulation for wastewater. The most common heavy metals are As, Hg, Cd, Ni, Pb, Cu, Zn, Cr VI
Surely for Cd, Zn, Hg, As, Ni, Pb, Cr, Pb, Cu, Se, Mb, Co as total and dissolved concentrations.
It depends, if I had As, Cd, Hg, and Pb, I would recommend trying these.
" What heavy metals are importatnt in wastewater that should be removed?" Dear Ehsan Teymouri , The answer depends by the type of your wastewater and hazard definition. Of course , one have to define a definition of heavy metals and then to agree which heavy metal species in which concentrations should be defined as hazard (risk). Finally, under certain circumstances, methods to remove it (from wastewater) or at least to avoid contaminations of food and water are needed. Conventionally, heavy metals are defined as chemical elements above an atomic Nr. 20 with metallic properties. The most prominent heavy metal contaminants are Hg, Pb, Cd, Cr, Cu and Zn. This of course doesn’t mean the other species are less important (like Ni, Al, Ag) and not to forget some metalloids like Arsenic. Detrimental are based on actual evidence mercury, cadmium, lead , arsenic . Some of potential (heavy) metal contaminants can be –under some circumstances also beneficial or some are even essential, as the medicine knows or believe it to know. Good luck .
Most heavy metals are in the transition series, such as Lead(Pb) Ni, Cu etc. Heavy metals such as Hg, Pb, Cd, As are toxic and should be removed from Wastewater before disposal.
It is important to mention that Fe3 should be removed from waste and drinking water. Principal reason is to abate corrosion of pipes and equipment. Also, Fe2 is important for blood health and is soluble in water. Fe2 helps oxygen transport in body.

For your research investigation and as justification it is better to conduct a literature review. Mainly have a literature review on the study area where you are running your research. If it's a pilot scale study then select the heavy metals based on the type of wastewater that you are meant to treat.
Only a literature review will help you in this regard

I agree with Shad that the first step would be to conduct a thorough literature search employing a broad search on heavy metal contamination of all types of water: source, terrestrial, subsurface, surface, fresh, game underground, drinking and marine. This search CAN BE AUPPLEMENTED WITH AMORE FOCUSSED TO THE SPECIFIC LOCALE OR REGION.
If you are looking for a specific compendium, as I have mentioned before; "Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater" published by American Water Works Association is a voluminous well respected treatise. The newly updated 24th edition is available as of January 3, 2023.
