If we have a hydrophoic surface with contact angle of 90 and DI water has to move bewteen parallel plates then cos90 will be 0 and how can we ammend the system?
In principle there is no capillary force acting on the liquid. The potential other force is gravity, which is depending on the liquid thickness above your parallel plates. When the contact angle is even larger than 90 degrees the gravity force will not be sufficient and no penetration is possible.
