Dear All,

I recently came across an issue with some potentiostat software and the direction the pulse height during DPV.

Usually the pulse during a DPV changes the potential in the direction of the sweep, so if you scan from -1 V to +1 V the pulse potential would be 25 mV and if you scan from +1 V to -1 V the pulse potential would be -25 mV.

But what happens, if you sweep towards cathodic potentials but your pulse potential is positive?

As far as I understand there should actually be no big difference (shift of a few mVs). But the peaks of the measurement done in the way that the pulse is opposed to the sweep direction shows less peak height.

Is there an explanation for that and are there any effects, that could be expected?
