I have data on the length and breadth of the leaves of the banana and number of leaves, and wanted to know which method is best suited for estimation of TLA.

Nowadays some softwares are available like ImageJ, Petiole, Easy Leaf Area etc.
Conventional graph paper (mm graphpaper) method may be useful following the formula:-
leaf area (cm2) = leaf weight (g) of the area covered by the leaf / the leaf weight of one cm2
