Our 100 cmd AOP facility has an influent flow rate of 0.53 cubic meter per minute. The water from lift station of the septic tank passes through three reactor tanks (1.5 cubic meter). The water then passes through Activated carbon and multimedia filters and UV Light. Unfortunately, the effluent is physically in poor quality since it appears yellow and has a strong odor that resembles ammonia.
You can remove ammonia by stripping and recover it as a pure stream.

Ozone is a very poor treatment for ammonia in water.
Can you state that the intended use of the water is. Also Ammonia and DOC concentration would be interesting.
Depending on ammonias concentrations .. you may consider nitrification.. but you need sufficient oxygen and a ph value of min 7.5 .. a temperature higher than 10 C is needed to insure sufficient oxidation
But again as mr. Andersen said .. water conditions and intended usage are important factors that detirmine the appropriate technique for ammonia removal
Ozone , ClO2, chloramines, KMnO4 are not effective for ammonia removal
Chlorine is probably an option but by products are a concern
Thank you so much for your inputs. We are actually trying to meet the standards set by the government which is 0.5 mg/L. The influent ammonia ranges from 90-270 mg/L which is from our domestic waste. We are planning to recycle the water for watering the plant. Unfortunately, Mr Andersen we have not considered DOC in our monitoring. Thank you.

Kristien Sato If you are going to reuse the water for irrigation there is no need to remove ammonia or phosphate. Plants need and love these elements.
If you like a better water quality in terms of the smell and color and microbial safety you could add an aerobic biological treatment between the septic tank and the UV system. Since the system is small it would be easier to control a biofilm system such as MBBR. If you are legally required to reduce ammonia to 0.5 ppm even in irrigation the MBBR system can do this is it is sized for the task, but you might need to add alkalinity to keep pH above 7 then you nitrify up to 270 ppm.

I have read the opinions of the professors above. They have told you good ideas. But I can tell you as much as I can, and I ask from Dr. Henrik Rasmus Andersen to approve or correct my words.
You can coupling the eMBR process with the photocatalytic ozonation process of advanced oxidation. So that the first process reduces turbidity and organic load, and the second process will help you to further purify and disinfect water and destroy the bacteria. I think bacteria can be useful in converting ammonium to nitrogen and nitride. so, put the photocatalytic ozonation process after the first process. The second process can be effective in removing dyes and organisms and any kind that can be oxidized or reduced. Also use ultraviolet light along with photocatalytic ozonation. In brief, first, the process of eMBR and then the multimedia filters and then the active carbon filters and then the photocatalytic ozonation with UV light. But note that these conditions need to be optimized.

if it is 100 cubic meters per day, then "influent flow rate of 0.53 cubic meter per minute" would give 763 cubic meter per day flow. l just wonder about this. (in that case the unit is overladed apart from the facts mentioned by Henrik Rasmus Andersen

By the way, in case system was overloaded (due to 7 times higher flow rate), the Activated carbon and multimedia filters might not recover even after flow rate reduction.
nice if you could measure some TOC, BOD or COD values (as mentioned by Henrik Rasmus Andersen Henrik Rasmus Andersen and others) to see the organic loading rate.
