The uptake the uptake of new technologies and management approaches of improved nutrient and carbon management in agriculture is mainly dependent:
1. Relevance or whether it is need-based (participatory) or imposed
2. Fits well with socio-cultural context and local values
3. Perceived short-term and long-term benefits
4. How well the technology is packaged to suit the farming systems and local beliefs.
5. Introducer-traits like ability to convince and demonstrate the genuinely future benefits.
6. Level of Education/exposure of the farmers.
