You have two options to prepare Dried Herbal Decoction.

Freeze drying: freeze drier is used to dry substances which sensitive to high temperature (thermo labile).

Spray drying: In spray drying thermo labile compounds will probably decompose at high temperature

Freeze dried extracts retain thermo labile compounds which you will lose in spray drying at higher temperature. So, freeze drying is a better option.

So, Freeze drier is required to prepare Dried Herbal decoction.

Ya i heard about these instruments Freeze drying, Spray drying. Does the medicinal potency get changed or not?

The traditional literature says, use specific type of fire/ specific time. When we incorporate this instrument for preparing , the medicinal potency get altered or not? Kindly clarify this?

As I have mentioned earlier medicinal potency remain same when you are using freeze drier.
