During recent earthquakes in Nepal and several states of India it is observed that drinking water in many wells got contaminated (with salts, minerals, mud, drainage waste etc.). After a month also, water quality in several wells is not normalized. People need help. I request our scientific community for help to find out an economic solution. Based on the past experience and studies, civil engineers may provide feedback on good techniques. Please help. I think it is feasible to develop a filter cartridge in the shape of dognut of larger diameter (which can be placed in the well). Details have to be worked out.
