In my opinion, the terms do not come up by teachers. New terms are used by researchers when it is necessary to name something unknown so far. Some terms "do not take root", and are gradually replaced by others during scientific development. Some are taken "as is" from other areas of knowledge. Terms, remained in the scientific thesaurus, those that are accepted by most researchers, and are used in the researches, discussions and texts (later - in education). There are words of all types present in Russian, but these all live according to the rules of the Russian language, i.e. declense, have a "grammatical gender", serve as the basis for the formation of adjectives, etc. A scientific language is a subset of the relevant language as other professional languages (for example, engineering, construction, maritime, medical, banking, etc.). There are also dialects (even slang) exist (if someone thinks that my colleagues and I are discussing scientific topics in a narrow circle using "high style", then he is deeply mistaken).

The construction of language to fit different demands is common but at points it becomes a code shared only by a minority. Doing research recently on drug based medicine I had first to unravel the coded language.

In truth, I found the papers tended to be saying the same thing and none was after all convincing. They seemed to be saying/hey, we are part of your group. We are an exclusive group of intelligent, aware people. Not true, guys!

It is not by chance that the usual beginning of the report at the conference sounds like this: "Dear colleagues!" In fact, I maybe not respect the majority of those present. But what is my task? Demonstrate their insignificance, or express my own opinion (or results) on some scientific problem? Let them try to disprove, we will argue.

If I do not respect people, then why discuss something with them? But in science (at least in the one that I know), it is customary to talk about attitudes, theories, results, but not about the identity of the opponent. And express it in the traditional and professional form. Even the most unpleasant things. In the Russian science, we used a joke that the standard (for scientific discussion) verbal expression: “I very much doubt in the presented results” means - “this guy is blatantly lying”, etc.

So, scientific language is a complex sign system, which implies accuracy, uniqueness, aimed at understanding by colleagues, and not at conflict with them. It certainly changes (like everything that exists), but not by itself, but as a result of a change in the science that it describes. This is the language of self-description of science. And if someone uses it out of touch with real science (this is more characteristic for the “Life science”, imho), or introduces new terms that are not generally accepted (it require additional efforts, huh?), or do not describe something new, this is a person's problem, not of a language.

Of course I agree with you. Nevertheless, physicians commonly used Latin or some shorthand to insult patients. This was fairly common at one point.

My point again was the superficiality and limitations of the matter discussed, which I became fully aware of once I'd cracked the code. Ordinary more communicative language would probably have quickly exposed the limitations of thought and evidence involved/as the matters discussed are important, perhaps, just perhaps the language employed was even less justified.

Historians do not employ a vastly different language, just longer words than normal. There is here group identity and unnecessary exclusivity based on elite paradigms perhaps.

When at the very start of 70-th the common "dispersion" spectrometers were replaced by spectrometers using Fourier Transform Method, which for spectral treatment required a great number of special programs - a new FT-IR-language was born. At present (after almost 40 years) - the newly-minted terms are known by all the scientists who are using FT-IR-spectroscopy in their investigations. The scientists who are not acquainted with the features of Fourier transform, neither with the new programs for spectral treatment. This language is not understandable. I have used FT-IR only as an example. Any progress in any branch of science needs new terms to describe the effects observed.
