In several works including "Abriss der Logistik" Carnap sometimes uses 'éin' with an accent instead of 'ein'. Example from the Abriss, §2c: "Und zwar stellen Aussagefunktionen mit éinem Argument Eigenschaften dar, Aussagefunktionen mit zwei oder mehr Argumenten zwei- bzw. mehrstellige Beziehungen." It seems like 'éin' is supposed to express the same as 'exactly one' while 'ein' expresses 'at least one'. Two questions: 1. Does anybody know of sections in Carnap's work where this reading does not go through? 2. Where does he (or maybe some other Viennese philosopher) say anything about the use of the accent? Thank you for any help!
