I've started using CCMB80 buffer to make my chemically competent cells similar to the protocol available through iGEM website. Can anyone tell me what CCMB stands for and where the original reference is?
As I know it is an Indian national Institute. Stands for Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, India.
By looking at the composition I'd guess calcium chloride manganese or magnesium buffer?
Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hydrabad, India
I also looking for this. Someone tell me that is competent cell modified buffer, but I don't know more.
http://cshprotocols.cshlp.org/content/2018/3/pdb.rec102707.short
CCMB80 Transformation Buffer is used for making chemically competent cells.
CaCl2, MgCl2, MnCl2, KOAc included.
Hope it helps.
