1. There is a little confusion about the meaning of model selection in AIC. To Illustrate, I have some different metal concentrations from 20 sites. how can I use AIC in this case? I know the lower value in AIC is best suited. I have come to know about the gist information/meaning of AIC in this such kind of different concentration of data.
2. please tell me about a software name instead of R for AIC analysis.
3. If there any tutorial video to input data for AIC to be analyzed in a software, please share.

AIC is a measure to compare different regression models based on the same hypothesis and dataset. It can be calculated even in Excel spreadsheets.

AIC is a criterion for model selection. It has two terms, one term involving the residual variance decreases with lag increase and the other involving the lag is the overparametrization penalty. The latter takes care of satisfying the principle parametric parsimony in model building. AIC is inherently computed with models fitted using software.
