To interpret a question taken out of context is quite risky. However, risking, I would say that the research can become credible when you say "no" to something that you're not fully convinced. So when you say yes you become more credible. (The same is in statistics where for a p-value > 0.05 we have no significant differences and only for the case when p-value < 0.05 we have significant differences)
