Land Management is key to urbanization policies of the state. Most of the states having poor land records i.e. lagging proper measurements, poor modernization and updation capacities have encouraged the unplanned development of land. A proper land use planning of cities, utilization data and demographic growth needs to be monitored. In most countries/cities the common elements are land consumed by urbanization, land available for other uses, impacts on the agriculture - food security, generation of heat island effects and environmental impacts in the region. Studies are needed to maintain the land resources verses the expansion rates of the cities. Land prices, densities of development and infrastructure growth can make cities unsustainable. Both concepts involve social equity as they advocate for a balanced approach that benefits all members of society like access to resources, opportunities, or amenities regardless of any socioeconomic status.
Also, the 2 concepts have a long term vision by considering the long-term impact of decisions made today.
