Using large populations for experimentation has become very expensive and often the sample sizes are reduced because of that reason. Researchers of the following paper have presented the four classic experimental paradigms as short games, available as a free app (iPhone and android) and over the first month 20,800 users submitted data. The results are published in the following paper to show that mobile games can be used to carry out cognitive science experiments robustly. The main advantage is that the cost of research will be reducing while improving the quality.

What is your opinion about this research? Do you think of any other applications where the smart phones can be utilized? Any further comments will help. Thanks.
