Do you think the reiteration of the parties to keep 1.5°C of global temperature within reach, through funding adaptation and mitigation efforts, is achievable?
Record of these COP's is composed pompous pronouncements from the elite that accomplish nothing while flaunting the alleged objective with emissions from private jets of wealth ex-politicians and celebrity hangers on demanding others "change" (read sacrifice) while ignoring the many coal plants being built by China as they speak.
Elsayed's comment is a good example. Childishly ignorant of any substance - it "only" needs politicians to dictate how folks live. Thank you comrade.
Resolutions? Examples. Damage Loss fund - ~250 million. Clearly a nothing fund that will not even cover the administration (and graft) by the eco-bureaucrats. And consider that past pompous resolutions, none of which accomplished anything of substance.
and while China continue to build coal plants (https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/27/energy/china-new-coal-plants-climate-report-intl-hnk/index.html), US climate Czar Kerry says coal has to go (in the US) and talks up some new discussion with China and its "ambitious" goals. And we have the ridiculous King Chas, the prototype dilletante in his ignorance of the issues, multiple castles, residences, jets, yachts, etc. with emissions equivalent to a small nation, worry about the world.
Phil Geis Yes, I noted the incapacity of the previous COPs to achieve any palpable results. Unfortunately, the elites of the world are managing the eco-political discourse through bombastic terminology and extravagantly organized events. Thanks for the enlightenment Phil.
