I'm writing a critical appraisal for one of my assignments and I'm so confused (in terms of terminology) as to what this type of research design is called.
The authors have identified participants who are already enrolled in two different types of intervention. Thus there are two separate groups. The authors have assessed the participants for various characteristics at T1 and T2 (2 years later) and reported their findings on group differences.
This is definitely not a true experiment. But is it a quasi-experiment? Or a different type of non-experimental design? Correlation?
