What is the implication of the ratio of TFC/TPC in phenolics analysis and antioxidant potency composite (APC) index? In quite a large number of articles, the TFC/TPC is estimated to be less than 1. However, in some cases, this ratio is calculated to be grater than 1, which implies that TFC is greater than TPC. I was assuming that TFC is the sub class of polyphenols. Any justification for larger quantity of TFC than TPC in the same plant extract?
