what could be factors for comparing different approaches/tools to resolve ambiguity ? is recall and precision are good measures? or anything else.

As there are many tools available such as SHREE, TIGERPro, ARM to resolve ambiguity what are the main factors that could be used to compare such tools...as they resolve different ambiguities and approaches.........plz help if you can
