Dear Gulam Husain,

The animal model to evaluate any prospective drug to treat vitiligo was developed by us in 1989.It is guinea pig ear model.The black guinea pig ears were depigmented by methoxy phenol cream till most of the melanocytes were destroyed as tested by dopa staining of the ear biopsy.Use one depigmented ear lobe for the topical/intradermeal application of the prospective drug and the othe depigmented ear lobe as placebo.The evaluation was done as _ve if the prospective drug application resulted in faster repigmentation compared to the placebo.You may get mmore details from the my US patent 6143723
