What colour should PichiaPink be on a rich media that has adenine in it? From what I can tell, the presence of adenine represses the whole pathway of adenine synthesis in PichiaPink, meaning the red coloured adenine precursor isn't synthesised and the cells should be white.

When I streak 'wild type' PichiaPink, it is both white and pink. Where the cells are most dense it's pink but further down the streak they become white. Is this normal?
