I am a novice in the field of heme-protein interactions.
I am investigating a protein that binds heme in its native form. I have also created a mutant version of the protein that is expected to alter its affinity for heme. To compare the heme binding properties of both proteins, I measured the absorbance of the heme soret band as I added increasing amounts of each protein. The results are shown in the image below.
Based on these data (attachment), what can we infer about the heme binding characteristics of both proteins?
I would also like to know the reason behind the drawn inferences.
