I have two microstrip filters in Ku band BUC. One is 5th order edge coupled bandpass filter which has 4-5 dB insertion loss and 15 dB rejection. Second6th order highpass filter is stepped impedance (Hi-Z low -Z) type which has 3 dB insertion loss and 15 dB return loss. These two filters performs pretty well when tested itself but when overall frequency response of BUC is tested, it does not look great within Ku band 13.75 GHz to 14.5 GHz. Peak to peak gain variation is too high. What might be the reason for degraded frequency response?
