What are your views on the "African journal of paediatric surgery" for research submission. Is it a good idea to submit to this journal? My search shows they are scopus indexed.
Any suggestions for journals to submit to in the field of pediatric surgery or pediatric urology with less competitive acceptance rates?

The journal “African Journal of Paediatric Surgery” (https://www.afrjpaedsurg.org/) seems to be a safe choice. It is:
-Scopus indexed (https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/19600157921)
-Member of DOAJ (https://doaj.org/ )
-PubMed/Medline indexed
-Reliable publisher behind it (Wolters Kluwer Health/Medknow)
Although their CiteScore is rather low (0.3) they are indexed for more than ten years in Scopus, so their index is pretty safe and the APC is not that high (https://www.afrjpaedsurg.org/contributors.asp) for an Open Access journal.
Another suggestion might be “Annals of Pediatric Surgery” (https://aops.springeropen.com/ ):
-Scopus indexed (https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100200808)
-ESCI indexed (so eligible for an impact factor in the (near) future)
-Well-reputed publisher behind it (Springer Nature)
Their CiteScore is 0.3 as well but this journal is also indexed in Clarivate’s ESCI index. Furthermore, they charge no APC (https://aops.springeropen.com/about).
