Some coal power plant companies are already planning their transition to renewable energy. The transition will not happen overnight, so the coal developers are thinking of starting solar PV as soon as possible until the economic lifetime of the coal power plant has been reached. I have seen hybrids using CSP (concentrating solar power), otherwise known as solar thermal, but not solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. Would the latter be feasible from technical and economic points of view? Any examples you know of?
