The culture of campus is changing and so is the type of staff being hired, and this would include information technology services (ITS) staff. Some states are turning ultra conservative and it would not be surprising if they are hiring people who have their same political views of the world and the people who try to live in it. There seems to be an empty research hole for case studies, research, or articles that ITS is changing. I know there is some research that indicated a more diverse ITS is less likely to be hit with ransomware than one that is not. I have reached out to researchers in the UK and Australia. I would like to get more US research on ITS internal actor issues that make some school look like cartels.
