http://www.superconductors.org/ is reporting superconducting material ((Tl4Pb)Ba2MgCu8O13+) above 273 K from December 2010. Very recently, they have reported increase in the superconducting transition temperature further to 65 degree C in Tl7Sn2Ba2TiCu10O20+. The results are not conclusive. The magnetization data does not clearly show Meissner state and also zero resistivity has not been found or reported (as per my knowledge). Though signature of Meissener transition is seen in one of the so claimed "room temperature superconductor" in the Oak Ridge National Laboratory by magnetization measurements which is also not conclusive. What do you think about these materials? Is there any conclusive results published on these materials?
That has been around for quite some time. Presumably it is garbage. There even exists a skeptical wikipedia page.
This is something which is like a Myth today, but certainly like every new discovery which occurs, even the dream of a Room Temperature Superconductor may come up in near future, that research!

In the history of superconductivity there is a number of "false alarms" concerning the critical temperature. I think that if a group find room-temperature superconductivity which has been confirmed by other groups, then we would have heard a lot about it!!
I recall two cases (probably there are more) where two different groups claimed to have found Tc's above 250 K (please see below). Unfortunately these results could not be confirmed by anyone!
(1) Lagues et al., Science 262, 1850 (1993):"Evidence suggesting superconductivity at 250 K ..."
(2) Tholence et al., Phys. Lett. A 184, 215 (1994). :"Zero resistance around 250 K in superconducting Hg-compounds?"
Of course there are several proposals for the increase of critical temperature of superconductors, such as in the paper by Alexander Mitin, and I recall another one by I. Smolyaninov, where metamaterial-inspired procedures are proposed for the fabrication of a superconductor with very high critical temperature.
