It is important to view "supervision" as a leadership function and as a collaborative process. "Supervision" is a term left over from the era of assembly lines to manufacture or assemble products. That never was, and is certainly not now, an appropriate metaphor for motivating and supporting people in providing the best and most relevant educational possible for the needs of students in this era.
