I am working on a model of landfill which has been constructed in phases and one cell is added in each phase. I am using Soft soil creep model and consolidation analysis is to be performed.
I have generated very fine mesh . However the time in calculation is very huge so what are the ways to reduce calculation time without comprising with the accuracy of the model?

Not much else to do like optimalise you model. Some suggestions.
-first, define your interest areas. You need fine mesh there, but you dont need it close to the boundaries for example, and where you are not interesting in results.
-if you can, separate the problem, make several runs on smaller models.
-check your computer RAM, and compare it with Plaxis specification for optimal performance. You might have computer with not enough RAM.
-prepare model during day, run it over night, and collect results in the morning.
-try other constitutive models on smaller models, maybe results would be more or less equal.

it is better to do some trial analysis mainly to optimize the mesh density and mesh size, after which you starts doing parametric analysis. I think you have chosen soft soil creep model because you have to perform analysis for landfill material. The secondary consolidation effect i.e creep is more significant in case of landfill material. so your model is alright..now you have to think for reducing computation time by choosing other failure model like Mohr-Coulomb, camclay or other creep model ..ok all the best..
