Based on the articles above I only dare to say that more open innovation and university - industry collaboration would have greater role in the future ans so there could be higher demand for Professors of Practice. Yours sincerely, Bulcsu Szekely

Completely virtual university with a universal standard. Teachers and staff will be technically equipped to ignite innovative thinking among students. Skill will be valued rather than just degrees.
Universities will change after the pandemic, and of cause due to new technologies. They are going to be mostly online because it is cheaper, it is easier, it is comfortable. Some of the schools will change their sphere because we see that they do not respond for nowadays, we will see more digitalized systems.
I believe non of my professors can not handle the meeting in a good mood because always students do not listen to them, and using PowerPoint is not enough to have a successful meeting with students. professors were not ready for this kind of meeting.
I think they will consist of virtual class discussions and projects incorporating elements of arts in which students and faculty design their own audiovisual aids as well as 3D tools and illustrations that can be materialised on 3D printers from a virtual concept. Participants will appear as in real life via holograms to materialize on watches, Smart phones, lap tops and other tools that can be beamed within virtual halls and expanded to work sites in the case of physical studies like engineering, technology, agriculture, aquaculture and the like.
Marking rubrics will be programmed in Apps to track the work of a learner and collate and compile as they go in a formative and summative fashion later. when a learner has not mastered a level, the algorithm should block them from proceeding until they meet acceptable levels to proceed. we will also incorporate an extended attention to multidisciplinary approach to solve real problems or Triangualte research surveys, investigations and enquiries, without following the parochial specialist approach which creates silos. Life is not lived in silos. The scientists still need to understand finance, marketing, psychology, basics of medicines, language, communication and spirituality without having to be specialists in any of these but acquire sufficient competencies in all when integrated than when fragmented.
Hopefully more focused on competencies and development instead of hammering in factual knowledge. In the best case accessibly & free for everyone, with adaptive curricula and courses in individual learning spaces.
Since the technical development is going faster and faster I guess we can't yet imaginge what the standard in 30 years will be. It also depends highly on politics and funding, so it's really hard to tell.
In the worst case it will change back to become more exclusive and secluded, dividing stronger by socioeconomic status, gender and so on.
I believe that by then, there will no longer be large buildings for universities to exist. There will be less presence and more contact with the real world. I hope that by that year there will be no more collectors of scientific articles.
The University of the future will depend in the region. I saw some universities that started in 1850s and still around and advanced. Here in Africa we are following. Though with online classes, some poor countries like us cannot afford lecturers doing online as it is very expensive and consume a lot of energy hence exacerbate climate change.
