Core cleaning is a challenging task. In the case of chemical flooding, core samples are generally cleaned by methanol and toluene but in the case of nanoparticles, I am not able to get any solvent for complete cleaning of core samples flooded with nanoparticles.
Is it possible to completely clean the core samples flooded with nanoparticles?
Solvent or mixture of solvents to be used depends upon nature of nanoparticles.

Since your nanoparticles are not washed with methanol, toluene, therefore they are of non-organic origin, for example, silicon oxide. It can be washed with a solution of alkali.

Abdelkader BOUAZIZ sir, using HF in core cleaning purposes may be detrimental as Sandstone formation particles such as sand grains, feldspar and clays react with HF acid and can cause precipitation reactions, which can potentially change the core properties such as reduced permeability, etc. please suggest some other alternative especially for silica and aluminum nanoparticles in sandstone and carbonate reservoirs.
Dear Rohit Kumar Saw, yes for sure what you have said is true and I am aware of that, but I have said diluted HF, as you may know it is used for deplugging. But for cleaning I think it may at least be tried. I can not get complete vision on the situation you are in. Another strong cleaning solution is the 'piranha' one but it as strong as HF, its manipulation needs special great care. My Regards
