There are plenty of scopes if implemented properly. One of them is Tissue culture of plants and producing plants with unique and consistent features, which is impossible to get with clonal propagation.
Transgenic crops like Bt chick pea , bt brinjal resistant to insect and pest can be commercialised. In India transgenic Bt cotton is cultivated in more than 11 million hectares of land.
Plants themselves (new varieties), commercialization of technology, new fertilizers and plants health tech, transgenics, in vitro crops, improved seeds, etc.
Dear Nirjhar, as far as I understood, you're saying that it's impossible to produce stable products (plants) by clonal tissue culturing. If it's right, I would like, if it's possible, that you explain why is not possible. Thanks before hand.
Dear @Ricardo, from what I understood from his contribution, he opined that tissue culture techniques could be used to generate plants with unique characteristics which is impossible to achieve with macro-propagation.
Hi. It is a very complex issue, the applications of plant biotechnology involve products and services. It also depends on the sub-area of the plant biotechnology in question. In my opinion to define the focus of products and services to be developed, we must consider the production chain, these are different in each arable plant species. This goes from the plantation to the industry to the final consumer. There is no single path, there are several aspects to consider.
Give feedback on the benefits of the transgenic crops can be useful to make a step in commercialization biotech crops for example golden rice, it is rich in vitamin A. If people know that benefit, they could try it when it is sale.
Yes doctor there is amazing techniques to produce transgenic plants. I am currently studying a plant biotechnology course. It is very useful to have knowledge about production and improvement of commercial crops.
I am attaching a copy of the book that studying currently.
