Hi, your question is excellent, but can only be answered by you. The topic needs to be something you are interested in (passionate about). I attached a quick guide I use with my research students at all levels. I modified it and hope it helps.

Choice is usually based on your personal interest and your academic strengths, however, your specialism is very interesting for me from the point of view of environmental impacts. Would you perhaps be interested in how mining engineering developments and practices can ensure more attention is paid to environmental concerns while producing some economic benefits? You could perhaps focus on local Indian projects?
A good question, yet it must come from as to what project to pursue. You need to take time thinking about what weaknesses and strengths you have depending on which you can track back areas on which you have better achievement.
