15 December 2014 3 2K Report

I am interested in collecting fog, dew, and/or rain for trace element composition analysis, and I would like to know if anyone has any good papers or knowledge about the variations in trace element composition of atmospheric water at different elevations in the atmosphere (specifically the troposphere). I expect that the aqueous trace elements in fog and dew will be different than the trace elements in rain due to the variations in aerosol composition / concentration in different altitudes of the troposphere. If there is any supporting evidence that leads to the idea that rainwater and fog have nearly identical trace-element compositions (i.e. cations from soluble aerosol nuclei) in the troposphere that would be very helpful.

Thanks!!
