I am using Worldclim 2 current bioclimatic variables, and worldclim 1.4 future bioclimatic variables but I know I need to convert some of the future data to match the units of the current. Worldclim 2 uses degrees celsius, where as 1.4 uses degrees celsius*10. However, for BIO4 (Temp seasonality), I am not sure if I am right in thinking that Worldclim 2 uses standard deviation, and 1.4 uses standard deviation*100?
I downloaded the layers from Worldclim (resolution was 10 minutes). I found the range of bio4 from Worldclim1.4 was from 72 to 22673, while the bio4 from Worldclim2 varied from 0 to 2390.734. It seems 10 times. I do not the clear answer and would suggest to use the current and future layers from Worldclim1.4 to do the species distribution model.

Thanks Zhixin Zhang, after looking at mine I also think it's *10. I was considering using both from Worldclim 1.4 but I'm having trouble on R running my correlation test, so my alternative was to use the raster calculate tool on Arc to divide the temperature files by 10.
Yes I recommend preparing the variables using an actual GIs software. Worldclim version 2 is based on a more recent data set Fick 2017 where as 1.4 is based on older data there is also problems in the old variable in 1.4 where the bioclim variables values were not rounded off properly and will need recalculation using the raw data.

Hi Joshua A. Spiers, thanks for the help. I am using worldclim 2 for current data, but future data is only available on 1.4 at the moment. I think all the temperature variables need to be /10 to be converted to celsius to match the worldclim 2 data. I've finished my modelling now... just finishing the write-up to go!
Also u can try using Chelsa climate datasets, they also have future predictions too
Why is version 1.4 of WC says thats has a temporal range of 1950-1990 but then then it was extended to 1970-2000, and version 2 of WC is also 1950-2000?
Version two Pick and Hijmans stated that there was a need of changing again the information because there are new stations but..... What is the temporal range at version 1 then?
