Piriformis syndrome (PS) is prevalent in women, however, men also get the disorder. Preceding fall, direct gluteal trauma, leg-length inequality, lumbar spinal stenosis are reported as risk factors in published literature. In our previous published work, we found PS higher among housewives, sporadic case reports also mentioned its possibility among doctors, drivers, laborers, and dancers. In a case report in 2014, we demonstrated how PS could link with central sensitization syndrome, for example, fibromyalgia. Piriformis pyomyositis often gets confused with PS, alongside pain killers previous option deserves judicial anti-microbial intervention; piriformis pyomyositis has been described in women following vaginal delivery, abortion, also in pediatreic cases, and women receiving chemo-radiotherapy, however, it may happen without any clue for infective foci. However, the issue regarding PS risk factors isn't conclusive, still many factors inducing PS pathophysiology are yet to appear clear.
