What are the rice root physiology parameters in terms of nutrient and water uptake in puddled and dry condition?

I had cultivated rice in puddled condition as well as in dry soil (irrigated upland condition).rice possess the ability of uptake of N in the form NH4 + and NO3- . I would like to know the mechanism

The chemistry of puddled rice soil is different from dry and aerobic soils with respect to changes in soil pH, oxygen diffusion rate, redox potential and nutrient availability etc. There are classical literature available, written by very famous scientists viz. Chemistry of Submerged Rice Soils by Ponnamperuma, Chemistry of lowland rice soils and nutrient availability by NK Fageria etc. You may see all those literature which will be very helpful for developing knowledge on rice root physiology, and mechanism of nutrient uptake etc.
