Chengzhi Zhang much thanks for the recommendation. Researchers who have done some search work on English and Sinhalese language is encouraged to reply.
Language models, pre-trained models, transfer learning, and sentence embedding are the top trends of NLP right now (they are related to each other). You can check out the latest NLP conferences, such as EMNLP, and see that many papers are relying on BERT/ROBERTA/ALBERT/... models.
PS: I have published two papers on these methods.
IMHO, it is crucial to understand the connection between conventional data mining and deep learning.
