I am doing a modelling of a regional electrical grid in India and for that, I require the technical details (reactance parameters, intertia constant, etc) of each standard generating unit of thermal and hydro power plants. I am unable to find a complete database of such technical details anywhere on the internet.
it depends upon the nominal voltages applied in the specific country: for a 400 MW power station 400 kV could be a best choice (or 500 kV if the specific country uses 500 kV in place of 400 kV); for a 270 MW power station 230 kV can be feasible even if 400 kV could be better if available: the choice dependa also on economical aspects.
If you are talking about generation voltages then they are from 10-20kV and for transmission voltages they are in the range of 220-500kV in the South Asian region. For typical values of reactance etc., you can consult books or even the Simulink library models have some typical default values.
Three phase synchronous machines are usually used in the thermal power plants. Engineers must consider suitable size for the generators. The generator cannot tolerate high voltage level in small sizes. On the other hand, high volume generator requires a great iron volume which increases generator cost. For this reason, the generators rated voltage in thermal power plants is usually selected 11Kv or 20Kv. These numbers are firmly dependent on the transmission network and transmission transformers in each country. Therefore, high voltage substations must be located at the end of each thermal power plants for transmission of the generated power.
In modeling the regional power grids in India, it is advisable to require technical details (reactance parameters, intertia constants, etc.) of each of the thermal power plant and hydroelectric units. I suggest to find a complete database of technical details asked to the power plant that you will model.
For rated voltage (in kV) for thermal power generation units 270 MW and 400 MW seen from the specifications of the plant itself.

In Thermal power plant Normally generated 21 kv.....that can be step up and distribution in 132 kv lines for 270MW and 220kv lines for 400 MW.....plants
There are 11kV, 15kV and 22kV rated voltages for the 270 MW and 400 MW thermal plant generating units. After the Generation of Power step up the power based on regional electrical grid in India, for example for Gujarat step up voltages are 220kV, 400 kV and M.P. step up voltages are 132kV, 400kV. here i attached reference system voltages and all region map. hope it will help you for your modelling.
