Thank you Iqbal for the question. From my point of view, a succesful teacher knows how to motivate students to learn. I am talking about intrinsic motivation not the extrinsic one. Many active learning strategies are well discribed in the literature in order to reach this goal. However, the real success comes when your attitude shows to the students that their success make you happy, they will do their best to make you even happier.

If I was correct in understanding the question as being the same as asking about an effective or good teacher as well, here you have some of the distinctive characteristics. A successful teacher has the ability to develop positive relationships with his/her students. As well, he/she has the patience, a caring attitude and a kind personality, along with, the knowledge of his/her learners and at most he/she possesses the commitment to teaching and engaging students in learning. A successful teacher can “shift-gears and gets together with colleagues on an ongoing base. Above all, a successful teacher maintains professionalism in all areas.

For the distinguished and successful teacher, is the one who makes his students remember him with all the best in what he offers them, and the most prominent qualities (a variety of methods of teaching and teaching, the material of the study, he explains, good communication with both students and their parents, committed to objectivity and neutrality in all fields as much as possible; ................. etc.)

For objective evaluation, i think necessary a composite indicator, because you need consider successful students but also the quality of professor´s research, and responsibility for work obligations, in other words there are several important aspects about this topic. Very important is that professor to increase curiosity in the students. But on the other hand, the success comes when you do something that like you.

Hi there, A successful teacher is one who wants the best from their students and wants to work with the student to ensure they get to their full potential. Sometimes it may involve finding out what the student is interested in and answering their questions creatively with the students interests linked to answers. At no time should the student ever be uncomfortable in asking the questions they need answered for full understanding, as once the student is lost it is very hard for them to catch up.

A successful teacher must have passion for teaching. He/she should be prepared to handle all students whether weak or gifted. He/she must be able to develop and sustain the interest of the learners in his/her subject area.He/she must be interested in what goes on in the minds of his/her learners.

Becoming a Successful Teacher is only achieved when it is enjoyed by orienting and promoting meaningful learning for the students, not only by formal schooling, studying and performing well under high grades; but that each student, feel that he learned something very important to continue living, not only knowledge, but only skills; but a combination of knowledge, skills and attitudes, learn to reason and take the course of their lives respecting others and improving their quality of life, depending on their competencies, moral values ​​and ethical principles.

In itself, a great enthusiasm to live the best way every stage of life. Moreover, to ensure that each student in our charge, each time less dependent on us for their learning and as time passes, practice their knowledge and generate new cognitive and affective skills, become a new teacher, at least as good and successful as their best mentors; and if possible, surpass them.

Llegar a ser Maestro Exitoso, sólo se logra cuando se disfruta al orientar y promover el aprendizaje significativo de los alumnos, no solo que por presión formal escolarizada estudien y tengan buen rendimiento académico en virtud de altas calificaciones; sino que cada alumno, sienta que aprendió algo muy importante para seguir viviendo, no sólo conocimientos, ni únicamente habilidades; sino una combinación de conocimientos, habilidades y actitudes, aprender a razonar y tomar el rumbo de su vida respetando a los demás y mejorando su calidad de vida, en función de sus competencias, valores morales y principios éticos.

I believe a successful teacher recognizes that students have different learning styles. The learning mode that reaches one student will fail to reach another. Therefore, the successful teacher uses a variety of learning modes in the classroom--lecture, discussion, musical selections, video, group activity, and so forth--to make sure that, whatever any student's learning style is, that style is tapped, such that a diverse community of students learn the same material in different ways.

i think when student implement your teachings in real life...that's the time when a teacher is successful.

I Believe that each student has a star. And teaching in a classroom with in different character and learning styles motivates teacher to create different methods in teaching. Usually, a good teacher has self-assessment after teaching even on each meeting. According to me, there are some causes why teacher has a success feeling or not : mastering the subject which determines his/her professional; has a qualified humor sense; making the class interesting; discipline and has a time management skill in the classroom, knows well when to use reward and punishment; has a clear explaining skill, has a time to listen to their students, to be fair to each type of student, paying attention on student's feeling, treat students like and adult, not like a child.

Some years ago Joseph Lowman wrote a book (Mastering the Techniques of Teaching). In this book he proposes a two dimensional model of effective college teaching around two variables: intellectual excitement and interpersonal rapport. These two variables imply process characteristics, nonetheless as a previous comment states, I do believe a successful teacher is the one that enables student learning, thus the ultimate criteria of effective teaching is how much did students learn.

Characteristics and Qualities of a Good Teacher are:

In fact, a successful teacher is the one who has long-lasting impacts on the lives of his/her students, and sustains the power to inspire students toward higher success. To be fruitful, a successful teacher must have: An engaging personality and teaching behavior, clear objectives for the lessons, good knowledge of the subject matter, good classroom management skills, high expectations for students, and passion for teaching in his/her discipline.

A successful teacher is the one whose students always remember with good memories

The question looks like a simple question but in actual fact it is dificult.

- A succesful teacher in the eyes of others is the one whose student make it in life (among other things). The one who makes students appriciate the subject and associate it with society in one way or the other.

- A succesful teacher's self assesment would be that of one who has achieved what s/he has set as life objectives (such a developing other teachers in his subject field).
