A recent American study revealed the emergence of side effects during the third phase tests of these vaccines. So far I recollect from my Bachelor's course study of Biochemistry, messenger RNA (mRNA) develops as some imprint of DNA for further works during Protein synthesis inside a cell. This is a normal phenomenon for protein synthesis.

The first COVID - 19 vaccine is the introduction of some RNA inside the body which can act/ attach/ influence the normal mRNA of the cells to secrete viral protein, which ultimately can act as viral antigen.

I may be wrong in analysis.

Please inform the mechanism of action of the presently available mRNA vaccines so that we can get some clear idea about that (and all other) vaccines.

Addressing stability and safety

RNA is a notoriously fragile molecule. Delivering mRNA successfully to cells inside our bodies and ensuring that enzymes within our cells do not degrade it are key challenges in vaccine development. Chemical modifications during the manufacturing process can significantly improve the stability of mRNA vaccines.

Encapsulating mRNA in lipid nanoparticles is one way to ensure that a vaccine can successfully enter cells and deliver the mRNA into the cytoplasm.

If we consider the Thalidomide episode (1950-60s), Nimesulide toxicity of children (1990-2000s) etc. as well as the famous MAD COW DISEASE of PRIONS (through meat of cows given meat of Scrapie sheep as meal), we may come to a conclusion that, our knowledge is always incomplete.

Still, we do not know clearly that how PRION protein can use our own cellular mechanisms to secrete further PRION particles, a mis-conformation (3D folding) of a natural cellular protein?

There is official data about this issue in the manufacturer report, where it can be read. Main side effects are of mild type according it. There is also relevant information from RNAm vaccines and about its behavior in animal cells from in vitro experiments years ago. Therefore, it is very plausible that this RNA molecule has no strange or unexpected influence in cells and thus in the systemic behavior, BUT knowledge about RNA molecules is incomplete and epigenetics modulated by different types of RNA, for example, has demonstrated the strong influence or small RNA in DNA expression mechanisms by different routes. In conclusion, prudence and transparence should be key elements in the development of any drug, including this type of vaccine. I think that transparence is the Achilles heel here. Complete information, similar to that one available to regulators (FDA, EMA,…) should have been free accessible to researchers before or at the same time that the vaccine approval. On the contrary, doubts and reasonable reject to this lack of information must be expected, and this is healthy.

Despite, no post market servillance studies about side effects of all Covid vaccines, I think, Injection site iritation, fever, headache and weakness or letargic are common side effects of all antiviral vaccines.

The side effects so far (mid-January 2021) are very little or none at all. Few of the vaccinated persons (1 in several hundred vaccinated persons) experience very mild side effects, i.e. slight pain in the arm at the injection site for a short duration. Caution is advised for anyone who has a history of serious allergic reactions to vaccines or injections in the past. Out of millions of doses administered to date, very few severe side effects, including allergic reactions, have been reported. No long-term adverse effects have been reported.

There may be redness, swelling or pain around the injection site. Fatigue, fever, headache and aching limbs are also not uncommon in the first three days after vaccination. These normal vaccine reactions are usually mild and subside after a few days.
