What are the optimal temperatures and duration of heating when drying samples before XRD?

When drying samples (for example: powder of adsorbent loaded of pollutant) before XRD characterization, what are the optimal temperatures and duration of heating? What is the ideal atmosphere (air, oxygen, or vacuum) to get clear and distinguished peaks without destroying phases?
