I just found the below article that may be of interest. However, it may not answer your initial question about the benefits of occupational therapy, as may none of the other articles brought to your attention. In fact. reiterating the authors of the below paper, "further research involving rigorous designs is needed to establish a solid evidence base for OT interventions in adult mental health".
Although there are many reasons to applaud the intentions of occupational therapy, it appears to me that the above quote - thus far - is relevant for many areas of occupational therapy practice. I believe we should also be careful to distinguish between occupational therapists' "perceived benefits" (i.e., what benefits we think occupational therapy is capable of producing) , and the benefits we have evidence to claim that occupational therapy produces for our clients.
