This is an extract from a book I recentrly wrote" Leadership is a holistic spectrum that can arise from: (1) higher levels of physical power, need to display power and control others, force superiority, ability to generate fear, or group-member's need for a powerful group protector (Primal Leadership), (2) superior mental energies, superior motivational forces, perceivable in communication and behaviors, lack of fear, courage, determination (Psychoenergetic Leadership), (3) higher abilities in managing the overall picture (Macro-Leadership), (4) higher abilities in specialized tasks (Micro-Leadership), (5) higher ability in managing the execution of a task (Project Leadership), and (6) higher level of values, wisdom, and spirituality (Spiritual Leadership), where any Leader derives its Leadership from a unique mix of one or more of the former factors". Trevisani, D. (2015), Semiotics for Leaders. Ferrara: Medialab Research, ISBN 978-1-329-59007-6 It is also reported on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leadership - I hope it can help
Thank you very much for your prompt reply. It contains many aspects of leadership for further research. I am much interested in the term Psychioenergetic Leadership.
In my area of interest, I.e. social entrepreneurship, one emerging question is whether servant leadership affects the motivation for starting a social enterprise and its rate of survival.
Additionally in the area of academic research, there is a strong link between teacher's leadership and students' learning experience.
The big problem with leadership studies and theories is that they do not start in the right place. One should start with a detailed analysis of the type of things that leaders need to do, e.g., such a the job of CEO.
There is an approach that suggests that leadership is not a property of the person, or on contextual factors, or of the relationship between followers and leaders, but what is labelled leadership post-hoc arises from a coming together of factors in a "leaderful moment"- leadership as process and event - deriving from work by Whitehead and Deleuze. Martin Wood and Donna Ladkin have written on this. Approaches that suggest that leadership is something A does to B because they are somehow superior are rather dated and have been extensively criticised by recent research. Try the journal "Leadership" for access to newer approaches.
The notion of leadership can be treated as separate and distinct from the idea of leaders. The former is a phenomenon - a change generating process. The latter are people who possess skill in influencing the actions of others or who occupy positions of influence. While there are many similarities between the two notions, distinguishing them can be useful.
There are at least three reasons why distinguishing leadership from leaders can be beneficial in today’s new organizational order. First, in the new order we are more interested in increasing the improvements resulting from the general phenomenon of leadership than we are in identifying the specific inputs of individual leaders. Second, we can begin recognizing and rewarding the contributions from personal acts of leadership where they are occurring apart from those occupying positions as leaders. And, third, if we separate leadership from leaders we can focus on increasing the phenomenon of leadership, thereby multiplying it and its positive contributions throughout our organizations.
So, my advice would be to research how leadership as a change generating process can be developed in organizations.
If you find that idea intriguing at all, you can look through my Researchgate site for my articles and papers on leadership and innovation.
Hallo Mr. Kas, a leader is one that one may like to follow him in spiritual matters as well along side worldly affairs. I think this may be the new dimension of leadership and provides food for research thought.
There are some really exciting directions which leadership research is taking. Some interesting work I am currently doing is with authentic leadership and authentic followership. Research in leadership tends to be moving more towards the holistic approach, considering more than just the leader themselves, but others involved in the process such as followers.
I have attached a paper from 2009 which outlines a few existing directions of leadership which may interest you, along with a review of the past 25 years and directions going forward.
Hope this helps! :)

Critical leadership studies is an important emergent field, especially in Europe and Australasia. Here's a few recent papers from me on the topic. Good luck with your research.
For me leadership is a concept that is primarily related to addition of value in that particular environment in which the leader is operating. And of late I have been thinking about why organizations have leaders but value addition is minimal. In any case, we can go back to why organizations are formed. The sole purpose is to add value to social, economic fabric of the particular environment where they are operating in. Addition of value is a natural phenomena and organizations just need to do that. I would call it growth. If anybody is at conflict with nature, then they are bound to suffer. In that perspective, Kas, why don't you try to do a research on culture and leadership. Is the way we do things, we handle activities, we view what we do, do these "things" add value to our organizations? From this perspective, you may realize that good leaders may be polarized by a "bad" culture and thus end up not adding value to their organizations and can also be branded poor leaders. At the end of your research, you could come up with suggestions of how leaders can work towards adding value, and of course culture "the way we do things" plays a big role. What amazes me is that business as an economic activity is universal while the way we do the business depends on how we are accustomed to doing things. This is a conflict that leaders in organizations need to resolve. Interesting area to research on.
I enjoyed helping your research. Perhaps proposing the current of authentic leadership. It is a different way of looking at leadership and training new leaders for current times.
The study could be on the " Impact of leadership on sustainable development of 21st century organization ( industry 4.0 ), with special reference to transactional and transformational type of leadership ".
Corporate leaders' coping with inevitable ignorance of job-essential local knowledge, especially outside leaders, is quite unstudied subject much as is managerial ignorance in general. See my recent articles:

First let me wish you for your intention and effort. I raise the following questions at this time which may be useful for you:
1. Is there a significant difference between successful leaders and unsuccessful leaders with regard to morality?
2. Are successful leaders at work successful at non-work life? If so, why? If not, why?
3. There are leaders who claim that they are successful. There are leaders who have been identified by the media as successful. From the point of followers or subordinates of those leaders, are they really successful? If 360 degree evaluation is used, are there differences about the effectiveness of the leadership?
4. There is a saying "Success of a leader is shown by the number of people who followed and are following him or her". To what extent is this valid?
5. Are ethical leaders productive? Or are unethical leaders productive? What is the relevance of time horizon in this regard?
6. Is there a need for a special type of leadership to address the issue of sustainability (triple bottom line-planet, people, and profit) adequately?
7. Is a university teacher a leader? What are the special characteristics of that leadership? What are the general leadership principles which are useful for a university teacher to influence students effectively so that they change in the way expected by the teacher?
8. What is toxic leadership? How to manage toxic leaders?
Try to review on electronic leadership with the help of the leadership journal and the current trends of leadership it will give the light to you present problem.
An interesting and growing area of study is Social Leadership. With the advent of all the social networking tools, Social Leaders are getting more and more attention, They are the people who understand how to find and curate information from social networking sources and use it in how they live and work.
I'm currently working on my dissertation in regards to leadership traits. Basically focusing on what traits leaders identify with and what traits those they lead say they identify with. Basically, are leaders traits visible to those they are leading? One area I've also found lacking in regards to leadership research it is always from the leaders perspective without much research into their followers or subordinates.
Emotional intelligence as the gap between organization management/leadership theory and Practice. This is to establish why organizational leaders despite having the management/leadership and ethical knowledge, they still do otherwise. Could the knowledge of emotional intelligence be the solution? Some organizations do not come to realise their fifth birthday or established organizations experience a lot of pilferages of their resources.
The of study may be "Role of leadership in critical Socioeconomic situations with special reference to Business Organizations". This is more relevant in Covid19 and consequent economic situations, as well as, situations arising out of mass exodus of Ukranians in neighboring countries due to Ukraine Russia War. Leaders have economic, social, ethical, and legal responsibilities.
