The early diagnosis of malignant tumors, however, can be quite difficult as it can be difficult for doctors to distinguish benign from malignant tumors. Despite the difficulty of diagnosing tumors, modern computer imaging techniques have shown that they can exceed human performance on this task, potentially saving thousands of lives each year.
