Education is composed of three pillars: knowledge, values, and skills. Values are critical components of any teaching act. At any cost, we shall focus on values that are shared at national or international levels (e.g., punctuality, fairness, being task oriented, respecting others, defend the nation, etc.) as we can't cover all within the limited instructional time. Great question and discussion. I think it depends on the context. For example, now we need to teach sensitivity and compassion towards nature and environment. This might not have been necessary 200 years back.
Nonetheless, there are certain universal values, such as integrity and fairness, that should always be valued and taught.
When we talk about curriculum, it depends on the level we discuss. According to each country decision, the main values are described at taxonomy affective domain.

My latest quantitative research, " A Quantitative analysis of existing and expected status of the Ethical and Moral Education at the Secondary Level using Thurstone Scale and Borda Count Method" categorized the values that the spiritual and religious values as the highest scored value and social and moral values with second highest score. I simply believe that these values with practical and operational aspect be inculcated in the teaching. Moral decay is caused by the erosion of spiritual and ethical values. So we have to find the way.
I think value is to be honest and independent. If people are honest and independent they can accept all good values inside them.

What I mean by fear is the tendency to of being exposed to the unpleasant things that psychologically damages one's self-confidence or hopes; this type of emotion is heavily present here in Asia; especially Southeast Asia. Therefore, one has to put aside that notion and just go with the flow so that they can realize where they need to grow and develop themselves for the future.
Honesty, respect, punctuality, plurally, companionship, there are so many that we need to have them on our mind every time we engage with students. And more importantly, teach with our life example.

Our daily conduct and well-proceeding in applying moral values, ethics and professionalisms to everything we do on daily basis, is the best example students can get. So, as we act and live, proclaiming such values, we are teaching them of what is right and wrong, what is moral and inmoral, and so on.
Values are very important. It should be ones daily conduct to conclude lecture with imbibing values. What is written & learned and what we face is different . To act in such atmosphere make him human to deal with humanity. Socialization ,civilization as two sides of same coin. For being human to be social is required and to be social civilized is important.
It is difficult to choose the most important. Generosity with knowledge to put it at the service of those most in need, because accessing the university is an invaluable benefit for very few. the social conscience so that the professional and labor performance base their decisions on the common good and not on the personal or business. the ability to believe in the other to work collaboratively and to teach those around without vanity or arrogance. the openness of change to learn permanently. And definitely environmental awareness because on the contrary humanity does not survive.

No doubt values are important. Young university students are eager to learn their professions, I believe that this must be in accordance with moral and ethical values of profession and harmonious coexistence with society.
The different cultures in the world have their particularities to be respected, as well as individualism of free will.
I have been a university professor in Electrical Engineering and Systems & Requirements Engineering for over 20 years, and have always made a point of being objective, clear and simple in my classes. The most important values that I think I conveyed were in relation to nature.
I have always explained that nature is the best engineering teacher there is. If an engineer is good he understood nature, however if an engineer is great he copied nature! Nature used the time of many human generations to find optimal and elegantly simple solutions to adapt to dynamics of this planet.
So answering your question, in my opinion, I think that values transmitted to students in engineering, must be of respect and accurate observation of mechanisms of nature, and of all rules of peaceful coexistence between people.

The most important universal values that should be taken into account in the teaching process, regardless of the field of study and the type of didactic classes, regardless of the stage - level of the education process, I consider primarily: educating pupils and students a sense of the need for cooperation and solidarity, pro-social attitudes, empathy for other people regardless of whether they represent the same values and culture as we do, developing respect for other people, the need for conscious tolerance for other cultures and values, adherence to ethical and moral values, a sense of social responsibility in education, a sense and behavior in accordance with the principles of social environmental responsibility and goals sustainable development, improvement of critical and logical thinking, teamwork, rhetoric, innovation and entrepreneurship, etc.

A very interesting area of engineering is Biomimicry, which despite name suggesting something in biology is actually fusion of nature's behavior with way of carrying out engineering from the examples that nature has.

I believe that being creative and different are among the most needed values for nowday students and who will be the futur leaders of their societies.
One of the most difficult tasks in our life as parents is to address the children’s education. There are so many doubts and fears that torment us. The fear of making mistakes, of not being able to seize the moment. Of not being understood or even worse, failing to understand them.
In order to cope with our doubts and misgivings, we must acknowledge a set of essential principles to be passed on to our children. These are important values for dealing with life challenges that will help them become better adults tomorrow.
Parents - with words, gestures and emotions that define our behavior - are a model for them. Our role is to pave the way and provide instructions.
Kids develop first of all through their senses. They listen, understand, absorb everything, even what we unconsciously convey to them.
Values are the essence of a good education. Children who do not apply a set of principles to their actions will sooner or later lose confidence, with negative effects on their self-esteem.
What are therefore the most important values to convey to them?
Beyond personal choices more or less driven by religious or cultural factors, I believe that some values can be considered essential if we want to make our children happy men and women, and help them find their way and not get lost.
KINDNESS :
Kindness is a value that is learned, it is not inherited. From their very first years, children should learn to be kind to those around them, and our example can only help them in this.
RESPECT :
Respect means empathy, acceptance of the other, and the ability to listen even when we do not share the choices or opinions of those around us. We should teach our kids to put themselves in other people’s shoes. Tell them that this is the key to making true friends, to live peacefully together.
GENEROSITY :
It is important to teach generosity to our children, intended as being actively helpful to others. FRIENDSHIP :

PERSEVERANCE :
In order to help our children deal with the first life obstacles, we should convey to them the value of perseverance, intended as constant effort. We should teach them that there are important things worth fighting for, in order to become more mature, responsible, and better adults.
OBEDIENCE :
It is natural to encourage children to be obedient and aware of the importance of this value. Obedience means knowing the rules and being able to accept them, without asking for anything in return.
It is essential that children are obedient both in school and at home in order to establish a peaceful coexistence. We must teach them to ask, listen, and control their behavior in every situation.
SELF-ESTEEM :
Finally, one of the most important values to be passed on to our children is self-esteem. It is important to help them believe in themselves, in their abilities as individuals.
We must encourage them to make friends, to accept changes, but above all to be more autonomous, without fearing the world around them. An overprotected child will continue to feel “dependent” and insecure, unable to figure out how to deal with things alone. They will feel “lost”.

Justice, how I teach justice to my students; being a human being, we all are biased, we have our likes and dislikes, we have favorite students and not so favorite students; but when I am assessing my students, I keep all my biases aside and focus on, either it is written content or verbal exams, how much student has struggled hard to understand the concepts, and I award marks according to their conceptual clarity, their understanding (with the passage of time, students who were difficult or rude, understood that I awarded marks to them according to their intellectual abilities and not on their behaviors, and they were happy and I observed change in their behaviors due to fair and just marks acquisition.
