hi i'm looking for specific measures for competitive behaviour, i have gone through Hambrick (1995) article which speaks about action and response as competitive behaviour, im seeking help for more of this kind of articles.
Action and response behaviors represent competition in bilateral or oligopolistic senses. The original A. Cournot model allowed a behavioral assumption, which was later developed by J. Nash in game theory. One can also check for competitive results by looking at the Lerner Index, or insignificant estimates of deadweight losses.
This is a classical research program that is still going on. So, do not expect to find definitive ideas about competition. Perfectly competitive model are built on a set of assumptions, and when it is extended to general equilibrium analysis, other mathematical assumptions are specified. The literature is vast in this area.
