One of the greatest and the most challenging topic in BigData, machine learning, and artificial intelligence is medicine. Human bodies are very complex systems and we still lack mathematical tools enabling us to understand its complexity.

In this answer, I will focus on biosignals. Physiological data collected from our bodies carry within them an enormous amount of information that was inaccessible up to a relatively recent time to researchers.

There is undergoing development of new approaches enabling to distill hidden physiological data from biosignals. It revealed that new use BigData, ML, and AI techniques are insufficient in prediction and understanding of actual state and its development of health conditions and diseases.

We realized that mere drilling of whatever mathematical methods on data produced by living entities are insufficient for several reasons:

* it does not give insights into the underlying complex systems

* we are just observing some indirect indicators

* there might be different paths in data towards the same disease

* there might be same or similar data leading to different diseases

* we are observing too little of critical data and see some unimportant/junk data

* we must somehow measure system more efficiently

The solution seems to be, at least for this moment, to try to develop a more detailed understanding of physiological networks of interdependent, interacting processes in conjunction with observed data.

It occurred that mere observing data without having a clear understanding of underlying physiological networks is at least problematic or more probably fatal flaw of our contemporary research on biosignals.

Therefore we must merge complexity & BD, ML, and AI in one research platform. This is what can bring us forward, so far it is the only viable path to a better understanding of medicine based on biosignals.

There is a lot of money in making financial/investment decisions based on Big Data Analytics.

D.E. Shaw, IBM are a few companies that utilize such models.

In the context of the above considerations, the following question is also current: Will analytics based on data processing in Big Data database systems facilitate the analysis of statistical data? Big Data database systems can significantly facilitate the analytical processes of advanced processing and testing of large data sets for the needs of statistical surveys.The current technological revolution, known as Industry 4.0, is determined by the development of the following technologies of advanced information processing: Big Data database technologies, cloud computing, machine learning, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, Business Intelligence and other advanced data mining technologies.
